2016 Sor Juana Festival

September - November, 2016
The Sor Juana Festival is dedicated to Mexico’s greatest Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz (1651-1695), a great poet and philosopher who was known as La Décima Musa, (the Tenth Muse) and is known as the first feminist of the Americas. Through the Sor Juana Festival, the National Museum of Mexican Art presents writers, musicians, dancers and performers from both sides of the border with a special emphasis on women in the arts.
