Book Reading with Patricia Dominguez of her new book Tsipeni y Joselito and Children's Art Workshop

Saturday, October 31st at 1:00 p.m. at the National Museum of Mexican Art

Please join the National Museum of Mexican Art for a special reading of Patricia Dominguez's new children's book Tsipeni y Joselito.

Tsipeni y Joselito  is the story of  a little boy, Joselito, who is being bullied at school.   He experiences frightening dreams involving scary monster-type creatures, known as alebrijes in Mexico.  One night, a small alebrije appears.  He is smiling and  good natured, and the other alebrijes try to scare him away.  He stands up to them and, eventually, they leave.   Remembering this little alebrije, named Tsipeni, gives Joselito the strength to stand up to the bully at school.

After the reading, the children will make their own alebrije out of recycled materials to decorate  and take home.

This event is part of the National Museum of Mexican Art's 2015 Sor Juana Festival.
