50th Year Commemoration of the Peace Mural
Thursday, August 9, 6pm

Join us as we celebrate the first Chicano/Mexican-American community mural in the U.S.  Painted by Mario Castillo in the summer of 1968, this earliest mural launched a public art movement from the Pilsen neighborhood. Joining us for this discussion will be Mario Castillo, arts journalist Jeff Huebner, and Chicago's Commissioner of the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, Mark Kelly.
