Opening Reception
Please join the National Museum of Mexican Art and for the opening reception of the new exhibition, De vuelta: Works by Chicago Imagist Errol Ortiz.
This public reception will take place on Friday, August 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and is free of charge.
Errol Ortiz (b. 1941) is a Chicago native and former student at the School of the Art Institute in the early 1960s. Participating with the Chicago Imagists group, Ortiz continues to be an integral member in this city’s art scene.
His iconic puzzle-like paintings are influenced by mass media and popular culture. Representing over five decades of his artistic career, this is Errol Ortiz’s first solo museum exhibition.
