A note regarding Vintage Vibes:

The health and wellness of visitors, staff, and the general public is a top priority for the National Museum of Mexican Art.  The Museum is carefully monitoring the status of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and implementing museum best practices and safety measures.

With everyone’s health in mind, we have decided to postpone this event.

We’ll be back in touch after May 15th with updates regarding the rescheduling of this event.

Thank you for your support. The Sor Juana Festival draws in hundreds of guests every year. Ticket sales not only support the artists and performers, but are also vital in supporting the Museum’s mission.

In recent years a young generation of artists from Los Angeles has taken interest in vintage sounds like Dusties and Oldies. This movement goes back even further with a visible resurgence of the Rockabilly scene. What’s rarely mentioned is that the resurgence of both genres is due in great part to Mexican-American artists like: Big Sandy, Los Rhythm Rockets, The Rockin’ Ramblers, Thee Lakesiders, Bobby Oroza, Cota, Thee Sinseers, Gizzelle, Monica Rocha and Miriah Avila.

Join us for an evening of live music and vintage sounds from Dusties to Rockabilly as Monica Rocha and Cota open the stage for headliner Gizzelle. Bring your dancing shoes because we promise you an evening of non-stop dancing and swaying. We’ll have a taco truck outside where you can purchase tacos, if you get hungry. It’ll be right by the lowriders. Your ticket purchase includes drinks.
