Annual Gala de Arte

Dear Friends of NMMA,

We are sad to announce that the National Museum of Mexican Art’s Gala de Arte, scheduled to take place May 8th, has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Every year, the Gala de Arte is critical in generating funding that ensures our city continues to boast a world-class museum – one of the most significant Mexican art museums in the U.S., and the only AAM accredited museum dedicated to Mexican Art. Every year, we gather together at the Gala de Arte to toast the Museum, celebrate Mexican art, and enjoy each other, but this year we cannot.

The Gala is our major source of funding for our exhibitions, educational programming, performing arts, festivals, and more. While we cannot host the Gala de Arte this year, we need your support to meet our $600,000 fundraising goal.  While we are not able to gather in person as we would have liked, we hope you and your friends, family, and colleagues will continue to support the Museum at this critical moment in time.

In lieu of our usual gala activities but in the spirit of supporting the Museum, we ask that you give as generously as you can and that you share this opportunity to support the Museum with your friends and family who care about Mexican art and culture.

In these uncertain times, we thank our event sponsors and donors for their generosity. We are grateful to those who have agreed to contribute to the Museum although the Gala will not take place.

We look forward to seeing you all when the Museum re-opens its doors. Thank you for your support.

A special thanks to this year’s Gala de Arte Chairs and Committee:
