Giving Tuesday

The National Museum of Mexican Art has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to celebrate generosity worldwide. #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season. This year’s #GivingTuesday will be on December 1st.

The best holiday gift is one that keeps on giving. We ask that your support our #GivingTuesday campaign by making a donation to the Museum on or before December 1, 2015. Your donation will allow others to experience the gift of art by ensuring FREE admission for all!

There are many reasons to give to the National Museum of Mexican Art. Here are our top 5:

  1. The NMMA has provided free access to all since 1987. It is the only major museum in Chicago that is free to the public—everyday!
  2. The NMMA receives more than 160,000 annual visitors.
  3. The NMMA is the only Latino museum in the country that is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
  4. The NMMA is one of the premier repositories for Mexican art and its permanent collection contains over 8,500 objects.
  5. The NMMA's education programs directly serve more than 58,000 K-12 students annually.
