Practice your observation skills to make a beautiful painting! In this class students will learn about Mexican/French artist Jean Charlot’s painting Chichen Itzá (Relieve de Chichen Itzá), an important artwork that documents a relief from a pyramid at Chichen Itzá. After better understanding this piece students will use their own narratives as inspiration for a painting, while practicing basic painting skills.

Spaces are limited. To register, email Gabriela: Gabriela@NationalMuseumOfMexicanArt.org

Kits with all materials needed will be available for curbside pick-up at NMMA. 1852 W. 19th Street on Tuesday, August 4th. We will arrange to deliver kits to those participants who are not able to collect them from the Museum. Suggested donation may be made when registering or when kits are picked up or delivered. Please note: for participants outside of Chicago, kits will be mailed or we will send you a list of supplies.
