Olga Costa was a painter that arrived in Mexico with her family when she was twelve years old. Although Costa briefly attended the Academy of San Carlos, she is mostly considered to be self-taught. She started her career amidst a booming cultural and intellectual scene in Mexico alongside her well-known husband, the artist José Chavez Morado.
