Día de los Muertos Xicágo

Join us on Saturday, October 25th, as we celebrate Día de los Muertos by transforming the Museum and its surroundings into a beautiful space to remember our departed loved ones. Experience the beauty of this beloved tradition through ofrendas created by community members, live music and performances, art activities, and a stunning illuminated ofrenda projected onto the exterior of the Museum. Together, we will honor the memory of our departed loved ones.

3:15 pm: CASA Lincoln Folkloric 
3:30 pm: CASA Drexel Folkloric
4:15 pm: A Flor de Piel
5:15 pm: Trio Los Primos de Mexico
6:15 pm: Laura Itandehui
7:15 pm: Ballet Folklórico Back of Yards

Limited seating will be available, but lawn chairs are welcome.

Know Before You Go:

Illuminated Ofrenda
If you submitted a photo for the illuminated ofrenda you can access the schedule below. The photos in the illuminated ofrenda will be presented iin alphabetical order by the last name of the person being remembered starting at about 6:00 pm. If you’re watching from home, catch the livestream on our YouTube page.

Use Control+F to search for your submission by the last name of the person being remembered. The photograph you submitted will be displayed within the time frame listed. Each photo will be displayed for about ten seconds. We kindly remind you the display times are estimates.

Transportation
This event is easily accessible via Chicago’s public transit system. Options include a ride on the CTA Pink Line train, using the Damen or 18th St. stops or take the #50 Damen Bus to 19th St. or the #9 Ashland Bus to 18th St.
