The Museum will be closed on Thursday, November 27th and will resume regular hours on November 28th.
Rufino Tamayo was a painter, sculptor, and printmaker. His work, regarded within the Surrealist and Abstract traditions, helped bring Mexican art to international attention. In his work, he often combined European styles of painting with Mesoamerican motifs. The NMMA hosted his solo exhibition in 1990, Sculptures & Mixographs by Rufino Tamayo.
