Adventures with Abuela: Virginia Martinez Book Launch
Virginia Martinez is a longtime Pilsen activist, leader, and author. Her two books, Adventures with Abuela, Let’s go to the Zoo and Adventures with Abuela, Let’s go to the Shedd Aquarium, capture the stories of a young boy named Rio and the time he spends with his grandmother. Join us on Saturday, July 22nd from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm as we celebrate her third bilingual book release Adventures with Abuela, Let’s go to the Museum of Science and Industry with a reception and bilingual reading!
Guests will be entered in a raffle to win a Family Membership to the National Museum of Mexican Art and Family Pass for four to the Museum of Science and Industry.
About the book:
Rio lives in the metropolitan Chicago area. His Abuela loves to take him and his family to different parks and museums. Now, they have a new addition—Rio’s little sister, Lily!
