Introduction/Discussion: 11:00 am – 11:30 am
Letter Writing: 11:30 am – 2:00 pm

Join us for Con cariño, a letter-writing event connecting people with women who are incarcerated. Ahead of Mother’s Day, we will be addressing these letters to women in prison, whether they be anonymous or to a loved one.

This event is a collaboration between the NMMA, Chicago Books to Women in Prison (CBWP), Love & Protect, and Moms United Against Violence & Incarceration.

We will also celebrate the launch of Prism/Prison, the CBWP’s new magazine exhibiting incarcerated artists. Prism/Prison features the works of several women and mothers, offering readers the opportunity to engage with the impacts of the carceral system on families.

This event, inspired by Into the Hourglass: Paño Arte from the Rudy Padilla Collection, is free and open to all ages. If you have any questions, please contact angela@nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org.
