René H. Arceo (b.1959) crossed into the U.S. in 1979, and eventually settled in Chicago. Working at graphics workshops, he reached his artistic maturity in the printing medium of linocuts. Now as a Chicago Public School art educator, lecturer and influential printmaker, his artistic circle continues to emanate outward like ripples in a pond to the next generation. This exhibit focused on three recurrent themes: spirituality, portraiture and indigenous peoples.
