Jacques Gelman (1909-1986) amassed his fortune by producing and distributing the films of the legendary Mexican comic actor, Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”. His enormous success in the film industry enabled the Gelmans to pursue their passion of collecting fine works of art by some of the leading artists of their time.
