Join us for Late Wednesdays, when we’ll be open until 8:00 pm. Enjoy the Museum after hours with extended access to the galleries and gift shop. Stroll through exhibitions, pick up a unique gift, and take in the art in a more relaxed setting. This month, for guests 21 years and older, we’re pleased to offer a Sip & Paint-style Talavera workshop and preview of Copitas de Sol, a fundraiser hosted by the Museum’s Auxiliary Board.
In our Sip & Paint-style Talavera workshop, we will dive into the rich history and traditions of Talavera pottery. During this workshop, you’ll explore the geometry, patterns, and techniques used to create beautiful Talavera designs. Inspired by the spirit of Copitas del Sol, which celebrates Mexican agave spirits, participants will use reference images featuring maguey plants and the tequila and mezcal process to create their own Talavera-inspired tiles. These painted tiles are more than just artwork; they can also be used as decorative drink coasters or mini coasters for your favorite beverages.
Workshop: 6:00 pm
Cost: $15
