November 18, 2023, 11:30 am National Museum of Mexican Art

Families with children are welcome to join us on Saturday, November 18th at 11:30 am for Listo para el museo: Storytime in the Galleries. Join us for a reading of “Child of the Flower-Song People: Luz Jiménez, Daughter of the Nahua” by Gloria Amescua. Recommended for ages 6-10, this biography chronicles the life of Luz Jiménez, a model for artists like Diego Rivera, Jean Charlot, and Tina Modotti, and the pride she held in her Nahua roots. We will connect this book to various Mesoamerican objects currently on view in Nuestras Historias: Stories of Mexican Identity from the Permanent Collection. Admission is free, but registration is required. Email angela@nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org to register.
