Noche de Danzón returns on Sunday, July 26th from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm! Join us for a late afternoon full of live music, dance, and community, featuring Orquesta Sabor Latino and Inspiración Danzonera. Imagine you’re outdoors in a plaza in Mexico when you enjoy the 8th annual Noche de Danzón outdoors in the Museum’s Ray Castro Plaza.
Whether you are a seasoned dancer or experiencing Danzón for the first time, this beloved annual tradition invites all generations to come together on the dance floor. Step out in your finest attire and enjoy an unforgettable night where tradition, music, and community meet.
Based in Chicago and performing since 1969, Orquesta Sabor Latino is an internationally renowned 18-piece orchestra celebrated for its interpretations of Danzón, Bolero, Cumbia, Mambo, and other Afro-Cuban musical styles. They will be joined by Inspiración Danzonera, a Chicago-based dance group dedicated to preserving and celebrating Danzón dance and culture.
Weather Policy: This outdoor event will take place rain or shine and will comply with City of Chicago safety guidelines. Activities may be paused, delayed, or canceled in the event of severe weather, including lightning, high winds, or extreme heat.
Admission: Free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required.
