People of the Forest Photographs of the Maya by Gertrude Blom

March 5 – May 26, 1985

A destructive pattern of road building, colonization, and cattle ranching is rapidly eradicating the rainforest of the Selva Lacandona in the name of progress, profit and survival. Gertrude Duby Blom captures through her photographs how the traditions of the Lacandon Maya are rapidly changing as development overtakes their environment.
