Studio Saturday: Abstract Wax Art

March 18, 2023, 10:00 am National Museum of Mexican Art

Children 7-12 are invited to create their own abstract artworks, inspired by works from Nuestras Historias: Stories of Mexican Identity from the Permanent Collection. Paying special attention to works by Santos de la Torre and Gunther Gerzso, we will learn about intricate art practices, including yarn paintings and beadwork. We’ll then use wax string sticks to make our own abstract works on paper. Email angela@nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org to register, space is limited. $20 registration fee includes all materials needed. This fee is non-refundable.
