The National Museum of Mexican Art is pleased to announce the opening of ¡TINTA ARDIENTE! Igniting Community Through Collective Action, in collaboration with Instituto Gráfico de Chicago (IGC). Join us for an evening celebrating IGC’s 16 years of community building and creating socially conscious prints on Friday, October 16th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
¡TINTA ARDIENTE! explores how through a shared vision and supportive network, IGC embraces printmaking as a tool for education and activism. Since 2010, this volunteer collective has amplified the visibility of contemporary Latinx print artists while advancing art's power to ignite social change and foster solidarity. The exhibition brings together selections from IGC’s print collection, objects, event documentation, and traces of print histories from Mexico and Chicago. Together, these works create an evolving archive of learning, resistance, and exchange—held together through the language of print.
The National Museum of Mexican Art is committed to providing a welcoming and accessible experience for all our visitors. Please visit the accessibility page on our website for more information or to plan your visit.
