Viva la Vida: Amate Art
November 20, 2025, 1:30 – 3:30 pm
National Museum of Mexican Art
Adults ages 55+ are invited to join us for an immersive experience in the galleries, followed by an art-making activity. This month, we will highlight our main gallery exhibition Día de Muertos: A Celebration of Remembrance. In this workshop, we will use natural dyes like turmeric to create free-hand or stencil drawings on amate paper. Amate is a type of bark paper, used in Mexico for centuries!
Coffee and treats will be provided from local establishments. This program is free, but registration is required. If you have any questions, please contact angela@nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org.
