Due to gallery renovations, the National Museum of Mexican Art will be closed on Thursday, January 29th, and Friday, January 30th. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Viva la Vida: Calaverita Poems
Adults ages 55+ are invited to join us for an immersive experience in the galleries, followed by an art-making activity. This month, we will highlight Día de Muertos: A Celebration of Remembrance in our Main Gallery. In this workshop, award-winning poet C.T. Salazar will lead participants through how to write calaverita poems – eulogies for the living – lighthearted verses that celebrate life, often with a humorous or satirical spin.
Coffee and treats will be provided from local establishments. This program is free, but registration is required. If you have any questions, please contact angela@nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org.
