Tours & More

The National Museum of Mexican Art offers a variety of enriching experiences for learning more about Mexican art and culture. From docent-led tours to traveling art programs, you’ll find the right fit for you here. Docent-led tours are available year-round and offer an engaging view of the museum galleries.

Gallery Group Tours

Are you looking for an educational field trip? Take your group on a docent-led tour, or explore on your own with a self-led visit. Docent-led bilingual tours are available all year round and offer an in-depth view of our anchor exhibition, Nuestras Historias: Stories of Mexican Identity from the Permanent Collection and main gallery exhibitions. (See Day of the Dead exhibition-specific tour details below.) Tours are tailored to age groups to offer the best learning experience.

Although admission to the museum is always free, there is a flat fee of $125 per docent-led tour with a maximum of 40 participants. Tours can be booked for anytime between 10:00 am – 3:30 pm Tuesday through Friday. The duration of the tour is approximately 45 minutes. Docent-led group tours are not available on weekends.

To book your tour email us at: education@nmmart.org.

Day of the Dead Group Tours

Group tours for the 2024 Día de Muertos exhibition are at capacity, and we are no longer accepting reservations. Self-guided visits are still available. We kindly ask that you call the Education Department at 312-738-1503 ext. 3842 to coordinate a time for your group to visit. This helps us manage the number of attendees in the gallery.
