Through her extensive understanding of Mexican Baroque painting and figurative style, Carmen Chami (b.1974, Mexico City) creates artwork that reveals unintended journeys with travelers who are compelled to join in – whether voluntarily, out of complaisance, or necessity. Likewise, Adláteres (Minions) and the Unexpected Journey illustrates Carmen Chami’s love of compelling narratives where she provides each character a voice as she enters into their innermost world.
